Close reading of fiction and nonfiction texts, identifying main ideas, making inferences, analyzing tone and author’s purpose - Literary Elements & Analysis
Exploration of theme, plot, character development, symbolism, figurative language, and more - Vocabulary Development
Context-based vocabulary acquisition, academic word study, and Greek/Latin roots - Grammar & Usage
Sentence structure, punctuation, parts of speech, clauses, and advanced grammar skills for writing clarity - Writing & Composition
Structured practice in narrative, persuasive, expository, and literary essays with feedback and revision - Test Preparation
Skill-building for MAP, ISEE, Pre-ACT 8/9, and other standardized assessments
- Individualized Learning Plans
Students begin with a diagnostic evaluation in reading and writing to inform a customized plan tailored to their needs and goals. - Small Group or One-on-One Sessions
Families can choose between small group instruction (2–4 students) or private tutoring. Sessions are available in-person or online. - Experienced, Certified Instructors
Our English teachers specialize in middle school instruction, providing the tools students need to grow academically and think critically. - Engaging & Thoughtful Lessons
Lessons incorporate novel studies, nonfiction analysis, creative writing prompts, and structured grammar workshops to make learning both rigorous and enjoyable. - Weekly Homework & Progress Reports
